The primary role of the Staff II RN is to coordinate the delivery of care for the patient population they serve from admission through discharge. Included in this delivery of care are all aspects of the physical, psychosocial, safety and educational needs of the patient and their family/support system. This function is performed in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including but not limited to nursing peers, attending physicians and ancillary support services. The staff RN uses the nursing process, medical therapeutics, technology and personal interventions to accomplish this.Job Description:

EDUCATION

Associate's: Graduate of accredited school of Nursing
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
RN-Registered Nurse of California Upon Hire
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire
DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire
NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Preferred
AFM-Advanced Fetal Monitoring within Required -or- within 270 days from hire if part of a training/transition program
Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) Preferred
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
- Experience in Maternal / Child acute care setting
- Experience in Antepartum care
- Experience in Intrapartum care (Labor and Delivery)
- Experience in the recovery of the vaginal and cesarean delivery
- Experience in circulating cesarean sections
- Experience in the recovery of the patient with Regional anesthesia
- Experience in breastfeeding education and support
- Experience in the care of the Newborn and Postpartum patient
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Must demonstrate the following:
- basic Medical / Surgical nursing skills,
- basic competencies in the nursing process and pharmacology,
- basic knowledge of adolescent,
- adult and geriatric population,
- ability to work with all levels of nursing personnel and assist them in a resource capacity,
- effective English written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range is $72.21 to $97.72 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
