SalaryLRE Water is seeking professionals with 0 to 3 years of WATER RIGHTS experience to join our Denver, Colorado office.
Description of Position:
- Assist technical experts in tasks such as the following:
- Technical support for Water Court applications (SWSPs, Augmentation Plans, etc.)
- Water supply planning studies
- Hydrologic and WATER RIGHTS yield investigations
- Stream depletion analyses such as crop consumptive use, net depletions, and evaluation of potential injury to other water users
- Water budget models for discrete systems and for river basin modeling
- Assist clients in identifying, understanding, and solving problems
- Coordination with attorneys, water users, administrators, objectors, and colleagues
- Preparation of scopes of work and technical reports, including expert disclosure reports
- Litigation support
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Educational background: Bachelor or higher degree in engineering, hydrology, watershed, science, geology, or similar
- Zero to three years of experience in WATER RIGHTS or water resource engineering
- Strong Excel and GIS skills
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Independent, self-directed, motivated
- Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision making skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Advancement/Training Opportunities:
- Training provided on the job in technical skills, WATER RIGHTS issues, project management, delegation and staff management, leadership and consulting skills
- Training provided in the Water Court process, potentially including expert testimony

Total Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $65,500 to $76,500 annually depending upon years of experience and education. Salary is negotiable for a higher level of experience. LRE also distributes bonuses and 401k contributions based on annual company profitability. LRE reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range depending on experience and education. Employer paid benefits increase total compensation by approximately 20%. Additionally, LRE supports training and professional development activities for all staff and offers discretionary bonus opportunities as recognition for performance, earning a professional credential, speaking engagements or publication. Flexible/Hybrid Work Options:
LRE Water offers a hybrid work environment that promotes flexibility for our employees and encourages work/life balance. This role will be based in the Denver office, and may require some travel for field work or to client meetings, and legal proceedings.
