Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for aStaff EO/IRPayloads Subsystem Lead Engineerto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be primarily located in Rancho Bernardo, CA. 25% travel may be required.

Essential Functions:
The Staff EO/IRPayloads Subsystem Lead Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of multiple advanced payload subsystems and management of a team of electronics and payloads engineers. You will interface frequently with section members, functional management, IPT Leads, and Program Management. You will be tasked with setting and implementing objective-oriented direction and guidance to employees. Additional responsibilities include project engineering management for schedule and performance tracking using IMS/EVMS.
We are looking for the following skills:

Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop effective processes,
Technical background in Payload Subsystem design, development, and integration.
Candidate must demonstrate technical understanding in the field of sensor operations as well as knowledge of other related disciplines. The candidate should have effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 14 or more years of engineering experience or MS with 12 years or more year of engineering experience or Ph.D. with 10 or more years of engineering experience
- Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Top Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
- Demonstrated ability to formally present technical solutions to senior leadership.
- Supplier Management experience
- Electro-Optical Sensor experience
- Experience in technical integration of payloads or avionics electronic subsystems
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product.
- Project Management, Project Engineering, or Systems Engineering Experience
- Highly organized and self-driven with the ability to lead a multi-discipline engineering team to accomplish complex objectives.
- Experience with sensor providers/suppliers
- Experience with DOORs
- Experience with CPLM/NX
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment.
- Experience with DoD Acquisition principles
Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
