STAFF GEOLOGIST / ENGINEER / ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science (BS or MS) in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or other EarthScience.
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hr training (29 CFR 1910.120) a plus.
- Completion of ASBOG Geology Exam (Fundamentals of Geology [FG]) or Council of Soil Science Examiners (CSSE) as part of Texas Professional Geoscientist licensure a plus.
- Excellent technical writing and time management skills.
- Proven ability to take excellent and detailed field notes.
- Proven ability to work independently and part of a team. Self-starter.
- Knowledge of EPA-approved Low Flow groundwater sampling methodologies.
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations preferred (EPA and TCEQ).
- Knowledge of the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) rules a plus (§30 TAC 350).
- Enjoys Field Work!
Responsibilities:
- Field and office assignments are located at the Houston Office.
- Field Work at project sites located mostly in Southeast Texas but will include occasional travel to projects located across Texas (North, Central, West, and South Texas). Some travel to project sites located throughout the U.S. may be required.
- Field work including but not limited to: performing site inspections; sampling soil, groundwater, soil-vapor, and surface water; logging soil borings; field mapping/sketches; supervising drilling and remediation subcontractors; documenting daily field activities/providing detailed field notes; and installing groundwater monitoring wells and soil borings.
- Office assignments include authoring detailed site assessment and data evaluation reports including but not limited to: Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs); Phase II ESAs; Affected Property Assessment Reports (APARs); Response Action Plans (RAPs); Response Action Completion Reports (RACRs); Data Usability Summaries (DUS); Drinking Water Survey Reports (DWSRs); Annual Groundwater Monitoring Reports (AGMRs); Assessment Report Forms (ARFs); and Site Closure Requests (SCRs).
