What will you do?
As a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support of solutions for Thermo Fisher Scientific's Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gene AI) initiatives, web-responsive applications, and microservices architecture using the latest cloud and frontend technology. How will you get here?
Education
Bachelors degree required or a master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent technical fields preferred.
Experience
7 + years of proven experience on full stack development strongly preferred.
5+ years of proven hands with OOP (Java and/or Python) strongly preferred.
2+ years of proven skills hands with Angular, React, or similar technologies strongly preferred.
3+ years with AWS Cloud Services such as S3, CloudFront, EKS, RDS, CloudWatch
Proven experience using other cloud platforms with similar services will be considered (e.g., Azure, GCP) preferred.
Database design and implementation with SQL preferred.
Experience defining and implementing Non-Functional Requirements (NFR – Security, Performance, Cost, etc.)
Experience using GitHub.
Unit and Integration Testing experience strongly preferred.
Karma/Jasmine toolkit exposure is desirable.
Microservices architectures and RESTful APIs experience useful.
Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery experience useful
GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tool experience necessary
Agile/Scrum software development experience useful
AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate and/or professional desired
Oracle Certified Associate / Professional Java Programmer – Java 8+ desired
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach.
Strong in programming subject areas like object-oriented principles, design patterns, data structures, domain driven design (DDD).
Ability to effectively detail artifacts and processes then explain them to others.

Lead and mentor junior team members.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $118,600.00–$177,850.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
