Job description

Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility
At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.

We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design - where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.

Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we're providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.

We are currently seeking a Wire Harness Engineering Technical Specialist with expertise in EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and RF (Radio Frequency) Electronics for the automotive industry. As a Wire Harness EMC/RF Electronics Technical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility and RF performance of our automotive electronic components and systems - from board level components, to device level assemblies, to the wire harnesses connecting the devices. Your expertise will be integral in meeting industry standards and delivering reliable and high-performance vehicles. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:
EMC/RF Design and Analysis: Lead the design and analysis of automotive electronic systems to ensure compliance with EMC and RF requirements. This includes conducting pre-compliance and compliance testing.
Component Selection: Collaborate with design teams to select appropriate components, including shielding materials, filters, and connectors, to mitigate EMC and RF issues.
Antenna Design: Work on antenna design and optimization for various automotive communication systems, such as keyless entry, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), infotainment, and telematics.
RF Testing: Plan and conduct RF testing, including radiated and conducted emissions and immunity tests, to evaluate and improve the performance of automotive electronic systems.
EMC Compliance: Ensure that electronic systems and components meet relevant EMC standards and regulations, such as CISPR, ISO, and FCC standards.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve EMC and RF-related issues, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions.
Simulation and Modeling: Use simulation and modeling tools to predict and analyze EMC and RF performance, and implement improvements based on simulation results.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of EMC/RF designs, test results, and any design changes.
Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to engineering teams on EMC/RF best practices and standards.
Technology Advancements: Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory changes in the EMC and RF domains.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Proven experience as a Technical Specialist in EMC/RF Electronics, particularly in the automotive industry.
Strong knowledge of EMC and RF design principles, standards, and testing methodologies.
Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools, such as CST Microwave Studio, Ansys HFSS, or equivalent.
Expertise in antenna design, RF transceivers, and communication protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
