The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Electromagnetics Test and Evaluation Engineer to join our BT&E Engineering team in El Segundo, CA. This role is responsible for leading Electromagnetics Interference/Electromagnetics Compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing on flight hardware and helping manage an EMI/EMC laboratory. This role will support electromagnetic compatibility test at the unit and system level through all satellite program phases.
This position is primarily 1st shift; occasional alternate or extended shifts may be required to support program needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 2+ years of hands on experience do you have with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/ Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing/analysis/Mitigation
- Project Management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ How many years of hands-on experience do you have with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/ Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing/analysis/Mitigation?
- Experience running/managing EMI/EMC lab
Responsibilities:
- Operating and managing an EMI/EMC test laboratory
- Execute unit and system level EMC test based on tailored MIL-STD-461 requirements and test methods
- Implements solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact
- Interface effectively with all technical disciplines in a team environment to trade EMI/EMC against other factors such as survivability, cost, weight and technical risk in arriving at the final design
- Interface with program office and customer representatives to communicate results and respond to EMC related inquiries
- Write EMC test plans and test procedures, provide comprehensive technical oversight of EMC testing, and document test results
- Present the EMC technical content in program design reviews for program and customer leadership
