Form of workQualifications Job Summary: The Staff Development Nurse is responsible for planning and implementing Nursing Center orientation, job skills training, and in-service education programs in accordance with policies and regulations. The Development Nurse is responsible for training, monitoring and guiding staff to accomplish educational objectives. Required Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited, state approved LPN program or school of nursing.
Licensure: Current MS LPN or RN license, MS 90-day temporary permit, or Compact state license. Experience: Two (2) years of nursing experience in a training, educator or leadership role. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact or educate residents.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, clinical staff and providers. Ability to work independently as well as lead a team. Knowledge of procedures and techniques in administering and providing basic resident care services.
Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility. Knowledge of uses and operations of equipment and instruments used in patient care. Working Knowledge of electronic medical records.
Knowledge of basic principles of multi-generational education. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited, state approved school of nursing. Licensure: Current MS RN license, MS 90-day temporary permit, or Compact state license.
Experience: Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience as an educator or trainer in a Nursing Center setting. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Proficiency with Microsoft office applications.
