Job Overview: (Nurse Practitioner preferred)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Medical Scribe. As a Medical Scribe, you will work closely with a very busy healthcare professional to accurately document patient encounters and assist with medical record management. The Nurse Practitioner will have patients scheduled on the days when the MD is not seeing patients. It is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in the medical field.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately transcribe medical documentation, including patient histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans
- Maintain organized and up-to-date medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete documentation
- Assist with data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Follow established protocols and guidelines for medical documentation
- As a member of the primary health care team, the Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive family centered services on a preventive, curative, and rehabilitative level in a collaborative/consultative relationship with a licensed physician and under Mississippi Board of Nursing approved protocols and/or guidelines.
Experience:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and practices
- Proficient typing skills and ability to accurately transcribe information in real-time
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or similar role is preferred but not required
