We are looking for a local skilled Bookkeeper to maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments for our clients.
The bookkeeper’s duties include working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure compliance with legal requirements, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate holds an Accounting or Finance degree (preferably followed by accounting CPE courses) and is familiar with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Buildertrend, Knowify, etc.
Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibility is to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of their clients.
This is an in-office position. Candidates must be local to Monroe, NC or in commutable distance.
Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process. Developing systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts.
- Maintaining subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions
- Maintaining a balanced general ledger
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
- Perform partial checks of the posting process.
- Establishing different accounts
- Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Complete tax forms.
- Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll promptly.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven bookkeeping experience.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in English and MS Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Bookkeeper Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Previous bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to handle several tasks at one time.
Compensation and Benefits (Full-Time Employees)
- Compensation DOE;
