Staff Attorney
American Guardian Warranty Services, Inc. (AGWS), an affiliate of Reynolds and Reynolds, is seeking an Entry-Level Staff Attorney to join our growing team. Responsibilities in this role will include supporting the legal team with review, research, drafting and monitoring of legal and regulatory requirements concerning the products, services, and business of AGWS. This includes maintaining compliance processes, responding to escalated customer complaints, managing outside counsel, information gathering of regulatory requirements, legal and compliance research, drafting documents, and supporting the licensing and registrations processes.
Essential Functions
- Support compliance and regulatory efforts related to industry specific laws, rules, and regulations
- Conduct legal research, track, and monitor legislation, rulemaking, and industry specific guidance
- Support customer complaint response process and assist with negotiated settlement agreements, complaint resolution, and litigation management.
- Draft research memorandums, correspondence, and other documents
- Help with the evaluation of procedures, policies, manuals, and forms
- Participate in the licensing and registration processes, including ensuring timely and accurate submission of forms, reports, and license filings
- Assist with form creation and form filing
- Assist internal and external stakeholders with information inquiries
- Develop and maintain working relationships with key regulators
- Resourcefulness and creativity, with a strong network and ability to quickly research an issue that falls outside of immediate knowledge base
- Strong project management skills and focus on delivery of results
- Pursue further knowledge as it relates to the industry and the position
- Ability to work collaboratively, problem solve, make recommendations and implement process improvements
- Communicate and resolve issues in a professional, timely and tactful manner

- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
- Ability to work additional hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines, company and industry demands
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Multitasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Current license to practice law in at least one state
- Ability to skillfully articulate legal positions and strategies concisely and quickly
