Attorney - Senior Counsel/Partner

Description:

A Civil Litigation Firm is looking to add lateral partners and senior counsel to its growing insurance coverage practice group. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10+ years of demonstrated expertise in handling first or third-party coverage claims and litigation. While portable business is welcome, it is not mandatory for consideration.
Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of 30-40 files encompassing all phases from coverage opinions to litigated declaratory judgment actions.
• Collaborate closely with partners in the group while maintaining autonomy over assigned cases.
• Demonstrate proficiency in handling a range of insurance coverage matters, including but not limited to CGL, commercial property, commercial auto, umbrella and excess issues.
• Emphasize expertise in additional insured, construction risk transfer, trucking, and commercial property claims.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance coverage claims and litigation.
• Strong familiarity with CGL, commercial property, commercial auto, umbrella and excess issues.
• Preference for candidates with a focus on additional insured, construction risk transfer, trucking, and commercial property claims.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple caseloads efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements:

• Availability for a minimum of three days per week in our newly remodeled Chicago office.
• Commitment to achieving a minimum of 1,900 billable hours annually.
• Willingness to travel as required.
