About the Role
Under minimum supervision, the Staff Assistant will perform specified duties of some diversity related to the department's activities in a Mailroom/Warehouse environment. Involves some independent judgment and a detailed knowledge of the department or company policies. Duties may include email and equipment operation. Maintain productivity and quality requirements as related to business unit goals. You may also support other team functions. You will work onsite at our print facility in Chicopee Massachusetts, reporting to the Executive Director Distribution & Delivery Support Operations.
You Will:
- Handle internal/external customer and vendor contacts.
Create, import and download files daily for processing of Back Copy and Magazine orders for WSJ, Barrons, and IBD. Also process these orders using UPS or USPS.
Create, import and download files for sending of customer communications utilizing Word and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
Work in a Mail Center Environment, packing orders, shipping orders, lifting up to 50 pounds, working power jack and manual jack.
Process shipments/outgoing mail using UPS or USPS.
Operate inserting equipment.
Utilize Word and Excel functions such as mail merge to process workflow.
Fulfill orders for WSJ Shop and maintains inventory.
Operate X-ray equipment to insure safety of all incoming parcels or other mail.
Maintain copier paper inventory and distribute to building.
Maintain, record and prepare reports.
Handle all shredding responsibilities concerning our Shred it service.
Handle JIE/Amenity/Student Membership order fulfillment and inventory maintenance.
Handle Back Copy Mailbox fulfillment
Handle Internal Mail Delivery
You Have:
- 0-1 years of relevant experience.
A professional attitude at all times, and are receptive to constructive feedback.
The ability to multitask, complete objectives within an established deadline, and work effectively.
Familiarity with computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel, Google, UPS, USPS.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to sit or stand, and work well in a team environment.
