Staff Accountant

Provides accounting support and information for management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports, processing invoices, processing travel documents and receipts, and maintaining accounts payable and customer payments.
Essential Functions:

• Prepares daily entries for subledgers.
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Supports monthly and year-end financial closes.
• Assist in providing information for operational management such as rent & utilities.
• Reconciles multiple cash accounts.
• Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Education and Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Excel
• Government contracting experience a plus.

Technical Skills:
PC Proficiency, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and data entry skills to create and maintain record keeping duties.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position which may require some weeks working over-time during training and special projects. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday typically between 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
