Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for various accounting and finance related responsibilities including, but not limited to, routine bookkeeping, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis of the Company’s results as compared to budget/forecast. The Staff Accountant will also aid in the processing of customer payments, vendor invoices, and employee expense reports. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily recording of accounting transactions such as receivables and payables
- Assists in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements
- Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, P&L trending analysis, and management reporting
- Assists with payroll processing on an as-needed basis
- Answers accounting and finance questions internally by researching and interpreting data
- Provides accounting support for mergers/acquisitions and fund raising
- Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Maintains and updates accounting records and files
- Analyze results against budget/forecast
- Assist with audit or tax-related requests
- Reconcile bank statements
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Reports to the Controller and partners with the organization to improve processes and document controls
- Organize and update financial records
- Support additional projects and perform additional tasks as needed.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance or a similar field (associate degree or bookkeeping certificate acceptable when combined with relevant experience).
- 0 – 2 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting
