Position Summary
RetireOne is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its Finance team. You will be responsible for preparing financial information and managing other general corporate and human resource matters. You will work closely with our sales, marketing, and operations teams.
This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and may be located in our Louisville, KY office or work from home.
The Day-to-Day:
- Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and reconciling accounts
- Calculate revenue pursuant to agreements; reconcile systems to ensure data is complete and work with teams resolve differences
- Prepare incentive compensation and commission expense calculations in accordance with agreements
- Manage accounts payable and process disbursements
- Reconcile daily bank account activity
- Design and distribute financial and other management reports used across the organization
- Prepare supporting schedules for tax return filings
- Gather information in support of annual financial statement audit
- Develop and implement accounting procedures
- Manage various aspects of corporate compliance, including business registration and licenses
- Support various aspects of human resources
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; deadline-oriented.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and math skills.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
- One to three years of related experience required.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Salesforce, preferred
