The practice encompasses corporate, civic, cultural, educational, transportation, residential, hospitality, office, retail, and mixed-use projects on a variety of scales.
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant for our Accounting Department.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying and recording accounts payable and processing of employee expense reports.
Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure invoices and payments are accounted for and properly recorded.
Generate reports detailing accounts payable status and maintain records of outstanding payables.
Create new vendors and understand compliance with the accounts payable process (W-9, 1099, ACH, etc.)
Organize and maintain supporting electronic documentation files including approval of payables and expense entries.
Organize credit card statements, request missing receipts, and assist with monthly credit card accounts reconciliation.
Keep track of payment schedules and alerts management of any irregularities.
Perform other duties and special projects, as directed and necessary for the team.
Ad hoc reporting to assist Controller and CFO.
Deposit checks using internal check scanner and distribute Cash Payments Report to Project Accountant and Controller.
Position Requirements:
BS Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university or equivalent combination of work experience and education required.
2-3 years of related experience required.
Knowledge of or interested in general accounting practices preferred.
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, required.
Excellent verbal and written communication is required.
Must have the ability to work overtime as needed.
Must have excellent attention to detail & ability to multi-task.
Must be a team player and collaborate with other Accounting members.
Must have the ability to meet deadlines.
