Staff Accountant

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of Legal Soft. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The Staff Accountant will contribute to the overall financial health of the organization by providing timely and accurate financial information and supporting decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support business initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles (GAAP), and company policies.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Perform regular analysis of balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and controls.
• Stay updated with accounting standards, industry best practices, and changes in regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being a team player.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the legal industry or staffing industry is a plus.
