Staff Accountant

Job description

Carameros, Rawls & Durham LLP is currently seeking an accomplished, motivated Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant you will prepare individual and business tax returns, as well as, quarterly and annual payroll tax reports. Accounting duties will include review of general ledger accounts, preparation of journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, performing account analyses and reconciliations including bank statements and inter-company general ledgers. This position is a hands-on, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company with growth opportunities. Clientele includes individuals and small to medium closely held businesses.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Individual, Business, and Fiduciary tax returns, as well as, accounting assistance for individual and small businesses and related tax planning
• Preparing financial reports
• Quarterly and Annual payroll filings, eventually will be working directly with clients

Education and Experience

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting OR 2+ years of Public Accounting experience
• Strong familiarity with journal entries - Required
• Fixed assets and general ledger experience - Required

Skills and Abilities

• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
• High attention to detail and processes excellent organizational and writing skills
• Must possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Knowledge and experience using QuickBooks - Required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Required
• Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment
• Detail oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
