We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our organization. In this role, you will support the Director, Accounting & Finance in various areas of accounting. Actively participates in month end close processes to ensure that they are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Location: This position may be done HYBRID out of one the following home office locations:

- Syracuse, NY: 100 Madison Street, 13202
- Remote - USA for the right candidate
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $63,000.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of the firm's financial statements.
- Responsible for the preparation of account reconciliations.
- Prepares and distributes cost center analysis on a quarterly basis.
- Responsible for the preparation of Account Payable transmittal forms.
- Responsible for preparing various Financial Reporting schedules, reports, and analyses on a regular basis.
- Prepares annual budgets for various cost centers.
- Prepares reports or schedules in preparation for external auditors.
- Write departmental procedures as necessary.
- Research, interpret and implement technical accounting guidance and make recommendations relative to accounting under U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare/review monthly invoices
- Assist in the documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
- Prepare supporting documents and perform tasks related to the external audit.
- Support annual budget preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or other related field of study and 2-4 years in accounting or financial reporting under U.S. GAAP strongly desired.
- Broker-dealer or other related financial services industry experience preferred.
- Financial services experience preferred.
- Must have strong multi-tasking skills.
- Possess high ethical standards including honesty, integrity, and dedication. Financial Services experience a plus.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, Sage AccPac, Outlook
