Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and bilingual (English/Spanish) Staff Accountant to join our team at Reyes Blum PLLC. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our firm through diligent accounting practices. This position requires proficiency in accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
○ Perform daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
○ Reconcile the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and resolve any discrepancy.
○ Monitor firm's financial performance and provide regular reports to management.
○ Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
○ Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Payroll Processing:
○ Coordinate payroll processing activities, including employee time tracking, payroll calculations, and deductions.
○ Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages, salaries, and benefits to firm employees.
○ Address employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Financial Reporting:
○ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
○ Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
○ Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
○ Collaborate with management to develop strategies for optimizing financial performance and efficiency.
- Other Responsibilities:
○ Explain accounting policies to staff and clients.
○ Run reports to identify failed payments.
○ Call clients to update records, such as billing addresses and payment methods.
○ Collect payments and other fees as required.
○ Always maintain client confidentiality.
○ Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
● Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
● Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
● Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a law firm environment.
● Proficiency in accounting and computer software (e.g., LawPay, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace).
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on professionalism and client service.
● Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
