Job Description
We are looking to add an experienced Staff Accountant to our team!
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting tasks and ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive attitude in resolving financial variances. Contribute to the overall success and efficiency of financial operations. Compliance and Internal Controls: Adhere to internal control policies and assist in improving financial processes and procedures to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts receivable cash
- Reconcile revenues/gratuities reporting
- Bank Reconciliations: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure balance with company records and bank statements. Some may be required on a weekly basis.
- Fixed Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset records, track capital expenditures, track to Depreciation schedules.
- Local- State Tax Compliance: Sales Tax return preparation, Business License filings (in absence of Controller)
- Month-end and Year-end Close: Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes and schedules, per Company procedures.
- Reconciliation of Intercompany Transactions: Review and reconcile intercompany accounts with subsidiary companies.
- Prepaid Schedules-Updated monthly- ensure schedule tie to G/L
- Reconciliation of Payroll quarters - Payroll Tax Liabilities to G/L
- Worker Comp calculations for monthly reporting.
- Prepare month end schedule of Cash Flow items for CFO
Other delegated duties:
- Expense Analysis: Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying areas for cost-saving opportunities, and assisting in budget preparation.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Sage Accounting Software
Excel expert (Pivot Tables)
GAAP
Bank Reconciliation
Multi-State Tax and Business License (A MUST)
