Staff Accountant

This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To succeed in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities
- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
- Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
- Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
- Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
- Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
- Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
- In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
- Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Vow to meet business deadlines
- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
- Spreadsheet and database capabilities
- Detailed and have the ability work independently
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Strong familiarity with Ledger Reconciliations
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Knowledgeable of ERP systems
- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
