Sr Tax Manager

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our Finance team in Houston, Texas. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the company's tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and optimizing tax strategies to support their business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their impact, and recommend appropriate actions. Collaborate with internal teams, including Accounting, Legal, and Operations, to ensure alignment on tax matters and optimize financial outcomes. Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and government agencies, representing their interests effectively. Lead tax audits and inquiries, preparing responses and supporting documentation as needed. Provide guidance and training to junior tax team members, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing. Support special projects and initiatives related to tax optimization, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree (MST, JD) preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in tax accounting and compliance, with a focus on multinational corporations or public accounting firms serving corporate clients. Strong knowledge of US and international tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles. Experience with tax planning strategies, transfer pricing, and M&A transactions preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
