Tax Manager Benefits and Compensation:

Tax Manager Job Duties:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including income, sales, property, and other applicable taxes
- Review tax returns prepared by staff or external service providers
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Stay updated on tax law and regulation changes to identify opportunities and risks
- Coordinate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax provisions for financial reporting purposes
- Assist in preparing tax-related disclosures for financial statements
- Research complex tax issues and guide management or clients on the tax implications of business transactions, investments, and other activities
- Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and team member development
- Build and maintain client relationships, providing high-quality tax advisory services and addressing their tax-related concerns and inquiries
- Evaluate and implement tax software and technology solutions to streamline tax processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure tax reporting and compliance accuracy
- Manage special projects as needed
Tax Manager Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance, or a related Field
- CPA or advanced degree (e.g., Master of Taxation) or Enrolled Agent certification required
- 5+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department, preparing 1040s, 1120s, 1065s, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Proficiency in Drake or Ultratax tax software and Microsoft Office applications
- Polished professional with leadership aspirations
