Analyze complex technical issues and identifies projects and technologies which will produce significant operational results and add value to the corporation. Participate in business requirements reviews to assist the business with requirements that are more technical, that the business might not be familiar with. Provide input to the defined technical scope in the Architectural and SRS documents to align with business objectives based on both user needs and technology strategy. Participate in meetings to define and review technical system specifications and processes for complex sub-systems or system modifications.
What you will do:
- Participate in business requirements reviews to assist the business with requirements that are more technical, that the business might not be familiar with. Collaborate with analyst to aid analyst with gathering business requirements that are more technical in nature by asking probing questions and providing feedback. Support analyst in identifying technical requirements for the business needs/objectives. Provide feedback and guidance for the technical scope throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze and revise existing system logic when issues arise during project deliveries and production incidents.
- Partner with business process experts to learn and understand problems with software.
- Assume senior advisement role in defining technical requirements and solutions.
- Advise and provide feedback in the creation of technical documentation that describe how systems should be created/modified to meet business requests. Review and approve the designs of vendors who create these types of documents.
- Participate in functional specification and design reviews. Provide feedback to technical staff.
- Partner with the API product owner to become the technical subject matter expert for our API first program and influence the technical design for all new or changes to existing APIs.
- Provide innovation to business areas and contribute to improve operational processes by advising in technical expertise.
- Review and sign off on vendor delivered technical specifications.
- Participate in COE(s) to address gaps in process, documents and/or any process improvements relevant to a particular channel.
- Lead department initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience
- Five to seven years of systems analysis experience, working on key business processes to define technical requirements.

BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
- In-office: onsite 5 days per week
- Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
