The Sr. Specialist, Training - Technical Training Operations is responsible for collaborating with training staff and Operations subject matter experts to identify, plan, create, design, test, implement, deliver, support, and maintain effective and engaging learning opportunities. Technical Training will consist of Operations, Science and Laboratory training, this position is responsible for facilitating learning and improving performance by delivering Technical Training onboarding programs and continuous technical skills learning.
This position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and will be on-site.

The Role:

  • Utilize training standards (standards in the CGT Training Program procedure) to develop and design robust Technical Training that will provide knowledge to transfer learning to the workplace.
  • Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Compliance Specialist to define learning content and build a robust curriculum; Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to draft On-the-Job Training Curricula with Operations (MFG, MTO, MS&T, MFG Support functions, etc..); Coordinate and partner with leadership and subject matter experts in the design and delivery of the Technical Training program content.
  • Revise, or develop Technical Training, procedure manuals, job aids, SOPs, or course material such as handouts and visual materials; Develop and deliver training presentations on pertinent topics to GMP/Non-GMP groups; Work collaboratively in a team environment across Operations and Quality disciplines to accomplish CGT goals
  • Design, develop, and facilitate a wide variety of blended learning solutions (OTJ, ILT, VR, and eLearning) to ensure the Technical Training Team offers scalable and accessible programs; Lead high quality and impactful learning content that supports our changing and growing organization, both in onboarding and continuous learning.
  • Assist the Manager, Technical Training in collecting and analyzing data and target metrics to evaluate effectiveness of programs and learning solutions to drive program improvements and strategic results.
  • Edit and revise Standard Operating Procedures, technical user documents including policies, procedures, training manuals, forms, proficiency exams, and training aides by working with applicable subject matter experts.
  • Prepares material for new training programs and onboarding aids such as instructional material handouts evaluation forms; Guide and train the new hires during the onboarding phase per the curriculum in a phase approach; Actively stays current on training methodologies and strategies; Actively participates in training activities, managing their individual training plan.

The Candidate:
  • Masters' degree in field relating to science, technology, Training & Development, or other relevant degree and 2 - 4 years of experience pharmaceutical manufacturing experience strongly preferred, specific experience with Biologics, Cell, or Gene Therapy manufacturing experience preferred.

OR
  • Bachelor's degree in field relating to science, technology, Training & Development, or other relevant degree and 4 - 6 years of experience pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred, specific experience with Biologics, Cell, or Gene Therapy manufacturing experience preferred.

OR
  • Associate degree or High school diploma in field relating to science, technology, Training & Development, or other relevant degree and 6 - 8 years of experience pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred, specific experience with Biologics, Cell, or Gene Therapy manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience developing instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, job aids, and related materials; Experience developing e-learning (e.g. computer-based, web-based training, online learning) that is delivered through digital media including Learning Management Systems (LMS), web, video, or mobile devices
  • Experience in Pharma/Biotech or other cGMP environment preferred; Knowledge of GMP's, FDA regulations and documentation procedures; Prior experience in manufacturing, quality, or technical area preferred
  • Experience in learning management systems; Demonstrated experience with adult learning principles, learning development life cycle, evaluation of learning programs
  • Strong facilitation skills, and demonstrated experience training professionals up to senior management level in both live in-person and live-virtual environments
  • Exceptional written skills, particularly in technical writing (training materials, SOPs, and operational documentation); Solid communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences and the ability to create and communicate complex concepts and analyses in easy-to-understand ways.
