Job Description:

Mobility Core and Network Services (MCANS) team is part of the Network CTO organization that oversees the global mobile and fixed network technology direction for AT&T, which includes the design of the company’s 5G infrastructure. 

This team is responsible for the architecture, design, resiliency, certification, and automated delivery of 4G and 5G Policy Mobility Core network functions and Network Services applications in the control plane Mobility core for current and future Mobility services and experiences.

The team contributes to the growth and development of end-to-end wireless network services across Consumer, Enterprise, Internet of Things (IOT), FirstNet and public sector products.   

This entry-level position is part of a team that collaborates with client project teams in the development of Mobility Cloud platform delivery, CI/CD workflow automation, policy design, configuration and one-touch testing and deployment via Azure DevOps (ADO).  

This is a dynamic and exciting role that will allow for exposure to emerging mobility, virtualization, and cloud technologies.  We are seeking candidates who are eager to learn and grow their skills as part of a diverse, talented, and energetic group of professionals working in the areas of mobility networking, cloud computing, data analytics, software development and technology delivery.

KEY SKILLS DESIRED

Mobility Core Network Knowledge:

• Understanding of NSA and SA call flows involving policy network functions (PCRF, PCF, BSF, NEF)
• Comfort with HTTP SBI signaling, Diameter protocol experience a plu
• Practical use of Wireshark, packet capture and analysis
• Knowledge of 3GPP and IETF standards
• Basic understanding of telecommunications, network architecture, and wireless communication protocols
• Exposure to network analysis and telecom-specific data sources

Cloud Computing:

• Basic understanding of cloud platforms and orchestration technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Linux use and administration including shell scripting, ssh configuration, patching, and SW installation.
• Awareness of virtualization, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts
• Basic programming skills in a language like Python, JavaScript, or Java
• Practical use monitoring via Prometheus/Grafana and ELK
• Security conscious, aware of privacy concepts in the telecom industry and able to document and follow best practices.

Software Development & Delivery:

• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Experience with Azure and ADO concepts.
• Experience with Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Understanding of YAML and JSON file types and their usage

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline e.g. Computer Science, or Engineering.

Our Sr. Specialist Member of Technical Staff earn between $122,000 – 183,000 USD, annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
