Position Summary:
Biomea Fusion is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Sr. Research Associate/Scientist in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Department. The successful candidate will be focusing on conducting in vitro ADME studies using cells and sub-cellular fractions to address project specific issues related to compound metabolism and interaction with enzymes/transporters, performing LC-MS/MS method development and bioanalysis, analyzing and reporting experimental data under minimal supervisions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct in vitro ADME studies such as metabolic stability assays in hepatocytes, microsomes and S9, plasma stability, plasma protein binding, CYP450 inhibition and reaction phenotyping, metabolite profiling and identification
- Perform LC-MS/MS method development and bioanalysis
- Works closely with cross-functional teams such as medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, biology and pharmacology to support preclinical evaluation in the lead optimization process
- Perform data analysis and reporting of experimental results to project teams
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Sciex Qtrap 6500+ LC-MS/MS system
- Assist with routine lab operations to keep up with internal demands
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BS/MS degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical science, or related scientific discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Prior hands-on experience with basic in vitro ADME techniques using cells and sub-cellular fractions is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience in method development and quantitative analysis of small molecule using LC-MS/MS instruments (ideally Sciex system)
- Working knowledge of Phoenix WinNonLin software for PK analysis is a plus
- Detail-oriented, strong work ethic, self-motivated, and proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and writing skills

The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $90,000 to $110,000. An individual's position within the range is based on multiple factors, including education, relevant experience, and length of industry experience will influence the actual salary offered. Base salary of one part of the overall total rewards program, which includes the opportunity to participate in stock programs, performance-based bonus programs and a competitive benefits package.
