The scope of the IT GEMS contract includes a full range of information technology (IT) services which include necessary hardware, software, and ancillary, components to support enterprise-level programs and environments. Support service areas include program management support, policy, procedures, and operations support, IT core services support, security compliance, customer and client services support, transformational IT support, and application migration support.

HOW A SR. RELEASE MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Supports C.5.2.6 Change, Release, and Deployment Management and C.5.2.7 Configuration Management Support.
- Responsible for maintaining, assessing, and improving the current Release Management Program using our ITIL-based ITSM4Gov approach to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to optimize the release process.
- Coordinates all scheduled outages with DMDC ITOPS for approval.
- Standardizes methods and procedures to minimize change-related incidents and collaborates with our Core Service Team to prepare, build, and test deployment packages prior to release.
- Oversees the full lifecycle of releases, including pilot deployments, as necessary, and early life monitoring post deployment.
- Develops, maintains, and publishes a release calendar on SharePoint (IPMS-SharePoint) on the first of the month to provide transparency and clarity to all stakeholders.
- Coordinates and facilitates release planning meetings to align schedules, discuss dependencies, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Ensures back-out plans exist and are ready to execute when necessary to ensure operational availability.
- Capture feedback and lessons learned as part of our CSI2 program to improve the Release Management Program.
- Produces the OCONUS Software Release Schedule (Del 10) within 30 days of award and the Release Calendar (Del 37) on the first of each month thereafter.
