Isola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring a Sr. Quality Engineer at our Chandler, AZ location.
Compensation: $85,000-$95,000

The Role:
The Sr. Quality Engineer provides, directs, and manages quality planning activities and processes. The role is a customer-facing function and assures customer requirements are reflected in site processes and are satisfied.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the quality function through coaching, development, and evaluation.
- Lead advanced quality planning activities & processes.
- Act as an escalation point for quality concerns & customer-focused engagement.
- Apply statistical methods/analysis to improve processes, products, and measurement systems capabilities driving variation reduction.
- Facilitate quality system-related training & quality guidance to site resources.
- Oversee and conduct internal audits (process, product, QMS & LPA) to monitor performance to the customer, industry, Isola QMS, and product standards.
- Champion the Isola Operating System by driving the achievement of quality-related KPIs to exceed customer expectations through standardization and continuous improvement.
- Manage the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
- Perform risk assessments of processes & determine appropriate mitigation & proactive corrective measures.
- Drive RCA and effective long-term permanent corrective action.
- Foster continuous improvement by leveraging Isola Operation Excellence Tools
- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
- Maintaining the QMS according to internal requirements and ISO 9001/TS 16949.
- Establish and/or improve the relationship between Isola and the customers.
- Implement the integration of customer requirements into the awareness of the company.
- Self-responsible planning and execution of System, product, and process audits, both internally and with all main raw material suppliers.
- Responsible for planning and execution of basic material tests corresponding to IPC-4101, current version, and property values according to customer specifications of the basic materials.
- Responsible for planning and execution of raw material tests, as well as qualification of new raw materials and their suppliers.
- Qualification of new products and processes (also in case of purchased base materials from other Isola locations).
- Coordination of customer and supplier complaints.
- Explaining, distributing, and controlling test orders as well as writing inspection certificates.
- The central point of contact for all quality concerns in the departments.
- Implementation of sustainable quality improvements considering technological customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is required. The preferred areas of study are Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or other technical disciplines.
- 5+ years of related direct quality experience in manufacturing. Laminate or PCB fabrication industry experience is a plus.
- Experience in 6 Sigma methods, 8D, 5 WHY, fishbone, process capability analysis, MS, FMEA, Control plan &CI program, Greenbelt or Blackbelt preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & collaborate effectively with external & internal customers.
- Expertise in utilizing Statistical Software (Mini-tab or equivalent). Advanced skill with MS Office especially Excel & PowerPoint.
- SAP experience is a plus.
- The following certifications are preferred:
- Certified ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 Auditor
- Six Sigma Certification
- ASQ, CQE, CQM, CQA, CSBB CRE Certification
