Work Experience: Minimum 9+ years relevant to role and 4-year tech degree / 15+ years relevant to role with no / non-tech degree. Note any Quality Certifications.
Industry: Aero-Engine (i.e. gas turbine / turbomachinery)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Initially, perform role and responsibilities of Sr Layout (Sr Quality Assurance) Engineer / Subject Matter Expert
- Includes:
- Quality Planning (Measurement/inspection)
- Evaluating fixtures, gages, and practices.
- Creating/Evaluating inspection software programs (CMM, other)
- Assuring QA goals and objectives for each product are capable, sustainable, documented, and timelines.
- Continuous Improvement
- Sr QE's may also execute work (services) in any/all of the following Quality functions:
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Part & Process Qualification / Verification
- Non-Conforming Material
- Continuous Improvement / Development
- Review/Approve the work of others
- Create Std Work, Assess work to Policies/Procedures/Checklists, Forms, Records, et al.
- Train/Mentor others within the Quality Discipline Engage with customer, customer's suppliers, et al in a competent, technical, and professional manner. Foster relationships.
- Maintain Integrity & Ethics in all situations
- Generate Continuous Improvement ideas to reduce Waste and Cost of Poor Quality

Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
- Understanding of AS9100, AS13100, AS9145, AS9110, AS6081, ISO 9001, FAA/FARs, DCMA/DoD
- Ability to interpret/review quality requirements (internal, customer) from technical drawings incorporating GD&T symbols and other quality documents.
- Quality Assurance Planning (Measurement System Analysis).
- Gaging experience (manual, computer assisted, and fully automated).
- Inspection Equipment Programming (CMM, Other)
- Gage fixture selection/definition, SPC, Gage R&R studies, Calibration requirements.
- Non-Destructive Testing
- Working with Part Qualification processes (PPAP / MRL, FPR, FAIR)
- Involvement with NPI launches, Transitions, Training/Development initiative.
- Presenting technical data/results
- Advanced MS office tools (Excel - pivot, charts, lookups, macros; PowerPoint - tech presentations, training; Word - procedural writing)
- Statistical based tools, sampling, analysis, metrics
- Electronic MRP / SW / WI systems (input/mining/extracting/analyzing)
Desired Skills / Attributes:
- Understanding of gas turbine engine workings, design, manufacturing, MRO
- Materials knowledge
- Evaluating non-conforming material, product recall, MRB, RC-CA
- Knowledge of modern high tech manufacturing processes (metal, composites, coatings)
- Operating in procedure based and regulatory controlled environments
- Office and/or Shop Floor Environments
- Lift / Transport 25 lb (occasional)
- Pass FAA "Eye Test"
- Common activities include sitting, walking, and standing
- Typically includes substantial amounts of computer work - but can also include hands-on activities (e.g. lifting, inspecting, transporting, etc)
- Heavily Regulated Industry with strict adherence to procedures and standard work
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, OT
- Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
- Full time role w/ company benefits. Both 1st and other shift roles available.
