The Senior Quality Engineer manages Quality Engineering processes and/or projects as an individual contributor. Works to achieve objectives that have a major impact on the organizational quality goals. Uses expertise to provide input on the development, modification, application, and maintenance of quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols.

This is an onsite role that sits at our Fairchild Road location in Winston-Salem, NC.

May be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, disposition, manage NCR’s for site including data analyses & reporting.

  • Participate and assist in achieving quality clinic certification.

  • Initiate and manage corrective actions.

  • Review customer complaints (RMA’s) and disposition.

  • Inspect and disposition returned goods.

  • Maintains stamp control for site.

  • Monitors and maintains controlled documents.

  • Maintain a constant audit ready environment for the quality department and assist other departments.

  • Participates in site Layered Process Audit.

  • Collaborate with other sites for best practice shares and benchmarking.

  • Implements projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.

  • Works closely with the Quality Supervisor, Quality Inspectors, and ARDRs to meet customer, regulatory, and Collins requirements.

  • Trains employees on quality procedures and work instructions.

  • Lead daily MRB meeting.

  • Manage inventory in the quality cage and move parts in a timely manner.

  • Drive reduction in customer escapes across multiple departments.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Engineering experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment preferred.

  • Certified AS9100 Internal Auditor preferred.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
