What will you be doing?

The Sr. Quality Control Technician is responsible for assuring top quality products are being created by testing materials and parts before, during, and after production to ensure they conform to specifications, while ensuring accurate documentation and control of inventory and WIP quantity.

Some of your day-to-day tasks:

  • Inspect in-house manufactured raw materials or finished products to verify they meet design requirements and tolerances.
  • Work closely with purchasing, shipping, and receiving to ensure high quality standards of incoming and outgoing parts (IQC).
  • Reference engineering drawings to identify required product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Respond to potential non-conforming product events by,
  • Identification and disposition of potentially affected products or materials.
    • Complete containment and segregation of potentially affected product or materials.
    • Determine direct cause of the non-conforming products or materials.
    • Coordinate efforts to identify and verify corrective actions required to restore production.
  • Compile non-conforming product reports (NCR) and enter into the Quality Assurance NCR database.
  • Audit production manufacturing for compliance with established Quality Control plans.
  • Inspect, measure, and test mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components, and assemblies.
  • Gather and maintain records of technical data related to materials, tools, fixtures, and processes used in company.
  • Create and maintain inspection plans, logs, and reports.
  • Develop and manage reporting metrics and quality KPI's.
  • Develop measurement processes.
  • Input data into inventory database system for accountability
  • Verification of correct inventory levels, disposition of excess inventory, and investigation of inaccurate inventory quantities.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as directed.

Physical Requirements

Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Employee will work in warehouse environment, needing to wear required PPE.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS **Visa Sponsorship Not Available**

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years’ related quality experience and/or training; (Required)
  • 3 to 5 years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred: Lean 5s and Six Sigma process experience.
  • Other: Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Requirements.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Metrology - Demonstrated understanding of and proper use and selection, of precision gages including, Tape Measures, Calipers, Micrometers, Pin Gages, Inspection scopes, and Automated measurement equipment.
  • Management Skills - Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others as needed.
  • Communication skills –
    • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate competency in writing emails, letters, and documents.
    • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of management, engineering, and manufacturing staff.
  • Relationship Building - Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Problem Solving - Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze results, draw conclusions, and execute solutions.
  • Process Development - Experience developing and Implementing quality process improvements.
  • Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • Computer Skills - Well versed in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Share point. Teamwork - Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of management, engineering, and manufacturing staff.
