Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Project Manager - Campus Transformation (MCIT).
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing project planning, oversight and management for the MCIT portion of select facility projects, with accountability for IT budget preparation, results and project outcomes. Project responsibility includes all IT applications and infrastructure required for the operation of the facility. Collaboratively ensures that MCIT standards are identified and achieved in the construction process for new sites and for areas under renovation. Collaboratively works with RED&F and business operations to define requirements and required delivery dates. Coordinates the integration and usability testing for applications and infrastructure with all disciplines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates an ability to understand the priorities for end user departments, RED+F and MCIT, working with constituencies to ensure that proper standards are followed throughout the construction and/or renovation process.
  • Identifies proper scope, schedule and budget for assigned projects within organizational constraints, clearly communicating the expected outcomes and dependencies.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with various team members to coordinate project implementation.
  • Provides periodic validation of budgets from conceptual phase through completion and close-out of all projects.
  • Facilitates discussions with end-user departments to identify innovative and appropriate use of technology through work flow analysis and by developing a strong understanding of their operational business needs. Works with users to develop alternatives that will meet their needs in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Anticipates needs, such as growth and technology changes that are not clearly scoped and assist the requestor in defining the scope and setting expectations.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and technological developments through participation in user meetings such as HIMSS or other appropriate user groups.
  • Ensures that all scope is properly focused on the delivery of world class patient-centric care, research and education.
  • Provides routine updates to department leadership, including MCIT and RED+F, as well as escalates and deescalates as appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains a positive, collaborative relationship across all disciplines, while ensuring that key business drivers are addressed. Identifies opportunities for process improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline or equivalent work experience. Equivalent work experience is defined as progressively responsible positions over a period of not less than 5 years or within healthcare IT, healthcare consulting or healthcare account management. Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience as a direct employee, consultant or dedicated account manager. Previous experience with significant healthcare construction projects, defining the MCIT requirements for architects, management, contractors and end-user departments so that they have an understanding of the impact of various decisions. Strong consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, judgment, and the ability to work effectively with end users, RED+F, MCIT, staff and vendors. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to understand the business and technical needs of the end user as well as foster customer relationship building and deliver outstanding customer service. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical users; ability to work effectively with customers. Candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, support multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize work to meet and or exceed established service levels and be dependable. Strong time management, technical and analytical skills required. Ability to think logically and creatively in problem solving. Should know when to escalate a problem. Contributes individually with supervision and as part of a team. Ability to work effectively with end users, MCIT and RED+F. May be required to work weekends and stay late as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of healthcare applications such as electronic medical records, computerized physician order entry, PACs, Telecommunications and Call Center design/management/operations. Knowledge and experience supporting Voice over IP a plus. ITIL certification. PMP certification. Epic, Eclipsys, PeopleSoft experience. Academic Medical Center experience.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $157,760.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
