Key Responsibilities:
- Understand device design and core technologies in order to architect overall test strategy for a complex medical robotics system
- Work closely with the Electrical Engineering and Manufacturing teams to iterate on PCBA tests for use at Contract Manufacturers (CM) or NPI, deploy tests to CMs and train personnel and support issues that arise related to deployed tests.
- Develop an understanding of interactions of PCBA to its connected peripherals and subassemblies and author testability requirements and analyze hardware designs for adequate test coverage and yield
- Drive DFM and DFT analysis/prioritization to enhance test coverage
- Lead development of functional test fixtures, automated test scripts, and data acquisition and measurement systems.
- 3 months: Understand current PCBA test strategy, support CM PCBA testing activities
- 6-12 months: ownership of implementation of PCBA test fixtures and programs
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required
- A minimum of 4 years experience with a BS or a minimum of 2 years experience with higher education is preferred
Required:
- Proficiency in CAD tools for schematics and PCB layout and familiarity with microcontrollers, hardware design for BLDC motors, and serial communication protocols (including I2C, SPI, etc.).
- Prior experience with test equipment and test fixture design at the PCBA level for functional checkout is required
- Ability to read schematics and perform electrical debug using oscilloscopes, DMMs, multi-meters, TDRs, VNA, spectrum analyzer etc. is required
- Design for test, manufacture, assembly, compliance
- Produce high quality documentation that is clearly understandable by internal and external personnel is required
- Experience developing electrical board level test and experience with instrumentation automation using scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Batch, Bash or Linux commands.
- Experience in Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Agile is preferred.
- Basic experience working with EtherCAT, RS422/RS485, RS232, SSI, BiSS, USB and/or etc is preferred
- Experience in Medical Device Design Control for IEC 60601, CISPR 22, UL in an FDA environment and testing electronics is preferred.
- Experience defining/developing ICT/ FCT testers with external vendors for printed circuit board testing is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50% to contract manufactures located within the San Francisco Bay Area is required
- The anticipated base pay range for this position is $105,000 to $166,635
- Business hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
