Job Description
Amron is hiring an Electrical Test Technician to test electrical and electronic systems manufactured for commercial diving communications and other diving applications.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Uses written procedures, schematics, engineering drawings and BOMs to test and troubleshoot analog and digital electronic systems and circuits at the system, board, and component levels.
- Uses multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, power supplies and other equipment.
- Performs in-process quality inspections of electrical and electronic assemblies.
- Visually inspects through-hole and SMT printed circuit board assemblies.
- Diagnoses failure modes and repairs customer electrical and electronic systems.
- Communicates with engineering and manufacturing staff to solve design or production issues.
- Provides suggestions for improvements to written test procedures.
- Supports engineering, prototype, and R&D efforts related to product development.
- May perform component level rework on surface mount (SMT) printed circuit board assemblies.
- May perform electrical or light mechanical assembly.
DO YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS?
- 3 to 5 years experience as a Test Technician testing electrical and electronic assemblies.
- Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other test equipment.
- Must be able to read and follow written instructions and engineering drawings.
- Soldering skills sufficient to perform basic component level rework and wire soldering.
- AA degree, training certification or military experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in an ISO regulated environment desired but not required.
- Handle multiple tasks and work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to add, subtract and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Climate-controlled work center with short periods in warehouse.
- Work performed primarily sitting, with occasional standing, walking, and bending.
- Use of common hand tools requires manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
- Clear vision required to see printed instructions and work.
- Requires occasional lifting of objects up to 30 lbs.
