As a key team member in CDMS, the Senior Manager of External Data Documentation & Compliance will play a crucial role in driving and navigating transformative initiatives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, adaptability, and growth. As the Senior Manager of External Data Documentation & Compliance within our External Data Governance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the documentation and compliance of all external data acquired from vendors. Reporting to the Associate Director of External Data Governance, you will secure comprehensive documentation of the work performed by external vendors and ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures. Your primary focus will be on gathering non-contractual documents, such as file interface agreements, market definitions and business rules and associated logic applied by vendors to their data before transmission to our organization. You will be the administrator of the online library of these materials and act as a subject matter expert in this domain. Your efforts will support all data domain leads encompassed in Data Acquisition (Commercial, Specialty, Marketing, Market Access) facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Additionally, this role is expected to maintain regular dialogue with legal and compliance personnel to ensure alignment and mitigate risks associated with external data operations.
How you will contribute:Gather and secure comprehensive documentation of non-contractual agreements, business rules, and logic applied by external vendors to their data before transmission to our organization
Be the administrator of a SharePoint library housing all external data documentation, ensuring organization, accessibility, and version control
Liaise with domain leads to understand documentation requirements and ensure coverage across all data domains including commercial, specialty, marketing, and market access
Collaborate with legal and compliance personnel to ensure external data operations comply with any applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards
Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between domain leads, vendors, legal, and compliance stakeholders to address documentation-related issues and ensure alignment
Conduct regular audits and reviews of external data documentation to identify gaps, discrepancies, or non-compliance issues and drive corrective actions.
Develop and maintain documentation standards, template, and guidelines to streamline the documentation process and improve consistency and accuracy
Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on documentation requirements, compliance standards, and best practices for working with external data vendors
Participate in vendor governance meetings and discussions to provide input and insights on documentation and compliance matters, representing the interests of the organization
Stay informed about regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices related to external data documentation and compliance, providing recommendations for enhancements and improvements
Contribute to the build of two-way Vendor partnerships that result in increasing operational efficiencies and better services. Support the cultivation of strategic partnerships to bring in thought leadership while supporting the business, developing the service/technology roadmap, and generating innovative ideas.

Identify opportunities to streamline documentation processes, enhance documentation standards, and improve compliance practices.
Mitigate risks associated with external data operations by identifying and addressing documentation gaps, discrepancies, or non-compliance issues.

Minimum BS/BA degree with MS/MBA preferred
Minimum of 7 years of management level experience in the pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries.
Experience leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change and delivering on programs with complex business deliverables
Can set priorities for themselves and their direct or matrixed team, deliver on deadlines and develop workflow processes and tasks in an evolving, dynamic marketplace.
Strong analytical skills and can support budget management activities.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and skills necessary to lead through change and influence without authority.
Ability to demonstrate strategic and critical thinking, as well as problem solving skills strong organizational, planning and project management skills–ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and develop workflow processes and tasks for their responsibilities
Track record of successful leadership, management, and development of small teams. Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry desired.
Proficiency in document management systems such as SharePoint for organizing, storing and managing documentation
Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards applicable to external data operations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and other data privacy regulation.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation, analysis, and presentation purposes
Ability to present complex information with confidence with coaching/direction
Strong communicator, able to convey both ideas and data, verbally and in writing.

$133,000.00 - $209,000.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
