- You will analyze, design, and optimize new production tooling to ensure safety while maximizing yield, CP, CPK, capacity, and cost effectiveness to enable the build of world-class vehicles
- Model and produce drawings that meet the design requirement
- You will develop and modify existing line layouts, fixtures to improve material flow, waste reduction, safety, and ergonomics by utilizing Lean Manufacturing best practices
- Support the transition of a product from concept to pilot line production and into mass manufacturing
- Review and improve current fixtures, work on design reviews for new projects ensuring Tesla standards Develop GD&T strategy to support vehicle quality build targets and drive tooling design
- Define a project’s scope, manage spend against the budget, coordinate with outside vendors, and oversee the installation of new equipment to ensure all requirements are met
- CAD Data management and updated CAD models for assembly lines
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in in a high-volume manufacturing environment, automotive preferred
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD software (Catia is a plus)
- Must possess process engineering skills (process development/improvement, troubleshooting, data analysis, constraint analysis, flow optimization, etc.)
- Extensive hands-on experience modifying jigs, fixtures, and coordinating equipment installations
- Good understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, process validation and reviews, assembly methods, and cost reduction methodologies
