2nd Shift – Monday through Friday 1:00pm-9:30pm PST, any overtime as needed.

As a Sr. Manufacturing Operator at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Carlsbad, California location, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing department, responsible for producing products for our NGS products. By following documentation and procedures, you will ensure the highest quality standards are met. With responsibilities such as operating equipment, performing set-up and shutdown of equipment, material handling, inventory control and basic troubleshooting of equipment. A day in the Life:
- Operate an assortment of semi-automated filling equipment, including basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Maintain a disciplined environment and enforce departmental and company policies.
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting various points in the manufacturing process, including packaging, and equipment operation/filling.
- Ensure completion of all batch records and manufacturing documents are in adherence to quality system standards.
- Implement process improvement ideas and apply lean concepts such as JDI, 5S, and RCCM!
- Adapt to varying schedules and hours as needed.
- Handle semi-routine work situations of limited scope and complexity, demonstrating the ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice.
- Submit problem notifications through the Quality Management System (Trackwise) as the originator.
- Undertake line lead duties, including setup, delegation of roles within the process, and troubleshooting.
- Attain proficiency in multiple processes and equipment within the respective manufacturing area.
Keys to Success:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or experience in biotech or chemical manufacturing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and cGMP’s.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and lead through complex processes/projects.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Familiarity with data entry tools, such as Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Previous experience with E1 and other business software is a plus.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment when required.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.64–$29.46.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
