Job Description
This position will lead the Global Technology Strategy efforts within the Strategy & Planning team, driving and supporting the technology strategy and strategic priorities. The Senior Manager will support the delivery and continual development of Technology’s business aligned strategy, support alignment activities with corporate strategy and markets, facilitate corporate phase planning processes and integrate with other functions in support of broader enterprise transformation efforts.
This role will support the delivery and management of high-priority and complex projects, which often require high multi-functional integration levels. The Senior Manager will need to identify success tactics and approaches to facilitate collaboration and consensus building regarding strategic alignment. As part of this role, supporting the Senior Director and Director in influencing decision making within senior-level audiences and driving strategic outcomes will be critical for delivering the vision. This role will also have a high level of collaboration with the other team members of the Strategy, Planning & Performance team.
The role is ideal for a dedicated, strategic leader, exceptional collaborator, and change agent who has significant experience in project management, consulting, and communications. This role will need to work in a highly effective and collaborative team setting, and support executive-level communications and achievements.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior Manager is also responsible for being the connective tissue between Global Technology, Corporate Strategy and the markets accountable for deploying Global Technology products and platforms that enable the strategy.
- Contribute to the planning process for Global Technology, with a particular focus on defining the direction for Technology, and ensuring that is aligned with the business strategy:
- Partner with the Enterprise Transformation Team and market planning teams to enable market transformation roadmaps.
- Establish a planning calendar and cadence that matures Global Technology’s annual planning process to incorporate end to end planning.
- Support intake process to ensure all initiatives ladder up to the broader technology strategy.
- Support development of the budget strategy and budget story as part of the annual budgeting process.
- Facilitate all Corporate Phase Planning activities, including delivery of Global Technology artifacts both to serve the markets and respond to market requests.
- Support activities with other Global functions to drive the technology-supported Strategy & enterprise roadmaps.
- Partner with Global Technology towers to ensure alignment of actions for the global tech strategy.
People/Relationship Management
- Leadership skills are encouraged with continued growth of team.
- Indirect leadership responsibilities as engagement manager with market technology peers, global tech initiative leaders and operational excellence teams
- Provide executive communications and presentations on strategy, phase planning and enterprise transformation.
- Partner with our business partners on broad central initiatives to figure out integration points and how each integrates with the overall roadmap and technology and enterprise strategy.
- Support creation and delivery of overall team goals.
- Main areas of focus and the approximate time spent on each is as follows:
- Team Management & Administration – People leader. Process alignment, documentation and implementation. People and initiative management. Recruiting and hiring (as needed). – 15%
- Executive Communications - draft executive level communications (e-mails, PowerPoint presentations, pre-reads, etc.) – 25%
- Phase Planning/Annual/Strategic Planning – advise senior leadership team on strategic matters– 30%
- Relationship Management & Alignment– Act as a subject matter resource, communicate GT strategy across organization, build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making with senior-level audience, Alignment with other functions & enterprise transformation team– 30%
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Strategy, Operations Research or Equivalent required- Certifications optional (e.g., PMP, CPA, CFA, PSM, Prosci etc.,)
- 7+ years of experience and technical/functional expertise in one or several of the following areas: management consulting, operations and/or marketing/communications
- Effective people management skills – both direct and indirect leadership in influencing direction, clarifying priorities and setting clear expectations
- Positive relationship and leadership skills across all levels within an organization and with relevant external constituents
- Demonstrable experience developing analyses, presentations and support material to build new change initiatives
- Mature problem solving, analytical, oral and written communication, and presentation skills; advanced MS Office skills
- Consumer products experience preferred but not required
- Adapts to changes in priorities with ease, comfortable working “in the gray” while defining the way forward.
