Job Description
With technology advancing modern solutions, the demand for technology resources is growing. The Manager of Global Technology Strategic Planning, Intake & Prioritization will develop and implement the global technology intake process, identify tools, and lead change management and communication efforts.
This role will also support annual prioritization and funding for strategic priorities, including business analysis and strategy development, ensuring alignment and value delivery across the system. Effective technology intake and prioritization processes are crucial for understanding system-wide technology needs and making informed decisions. Prioritization ensures that resources are allocated to initiatives that support our mission, Accelerating the Arches.
In this role, you'll develop and support solutions for organizing global technology funding requests, understanding work scope, and evaluating resource demands. You'll provide strategic program justification and support informed decision-making by senior leadership. Additionally, you'll assess technology resource needs across functions to enable all areas for Accelerating the Arches.
Ideal for a dedicated, strategic leader, this role requires experience in Demand & Intake processes, financial planning, portfolio management, and communications.
You'll join the Global Technology Strategy Planning & Performance team, reporting to the Director of Strategy & Planning – Integrated Business Planning. This team focuses on supporting and delivering innovative solutions globally.
Regular interaction with Global Technology, Market, and Segment teams, MCX, and leadership is crucial, particularly those involved in enterprise priority initiatives and the Technology Finance FP&A team.
Strategic Planning
- Drive the development and implementation of a formal global technology intake & prioritization process including identifying tooling, developing a change management strategy and communications.
- Execute the strategic prioritization process for Global Technology, with a particular focus on key strategic initiatives for McDonalds as part of overall organizational strategy.
- Support development of proactive and comprehensive communications of GTLT & SLT decisions to GT Towers and Segment teams aligning GT strategy to planned funding and resourcing.
- Conduct business modelling activities to assess potential impact of strategic priorities, develop recommendations and partner with cross functional teams to establish appropriate monitoring mechanisms and provide vital updates
- Model prioritization scenarios within and across all GT initiatives, and present to Global Technology leadership for decision-making
- Design decision-support tools and processes that champion alignment to strategy, consider evolving priorities that facilitate executive-alignment and prioritization discussions.
- Support the delivery of strategic business analysis, strategy development and recommendations in driving the value and portfolio delivery in alignment with the organization's objectives.
- Supervise and report on performance relative to enterprise commitments and strategic alignment.
- Lead special projects that impact the entire organization and/or key business-unit partners.
Financial Planning
- Partner closely with Technology FP&A team to develop business justification and align investments to priorities and funding.
- Shepard approved strategic priorities through funding processes and provide support of annual funding requirements.
- Partner with GT Strategy & Planning members and Technology FP&A to ensure alignment of financial spend to allocated resources.
- Proactively identify issues and develop solutions relative to the organization's strategic direction and financial resources
People/Relationship Management
- Act as a Subject Matter Resource on strategic and operational activities, questions, and leading practices
- Help communicate our strategy across Global Technology and McDonald’s, including discussions with market technology and corporate functional teams to maintain alignment
- Support development of executive communications and analysis regarding status of all large initiatives, working to resolve issues or potential risks
- Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences
- Partner with businesses on broad critical initiatives to resolve integration points and how each integrates with the overall vision/end-state transformation
- Gains broad agreement from partners when viewpoints may vary
- Manages partner expectations to ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Strategy, Operations Research or Equivalent required; MBA Preferred
- Certifications optional (e.g., PMP, CPA, CFA, PSM, etc.,)
- 3-5 years of demonstrated ability and technical/functional expertise in one or several the following: management consulting, financial analysis, corporate strategy, operations and org design and/or marketing
- Highly structured and organized with confirmed project management experience
- Experience leading planning strategies for large scale initiatives from start to completion
- Consistent record to influence and work with multi-disciplined teams
- Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to deliver information in a clear, concise way, ensuring the organization makes timely advised strategic decisions
- Previous experience supporting and adapting quickly to a fast-paced environment in support of multiple work streams
- High level of strategic focus/perspective and tactical ability to deliver
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office toolset (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.,) and experience with collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence, SharePoint) is preferred
