POSITION SUMMARY
The Corporate Senior Safety Manager will lead and reinforce the safety culture by providing strategy, leadership and subject matter expertise. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Corporate Sr. Safety Manager will lead a team of Field Regional Safety Managers responsible for promoting a strong workplace safety and health program for the organization. Drive the goal of “Zero Accidents” through a proactive, safe work practice approach that utilizes prevention and mitigation techniques when assessing potential risks. Key traits for the individual in this position are: highly developed communication skills, team engagement, strategic and creative thinking, excellent project management skills and the ability to drive performance from all areas within the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead in the Management of the Safety Program
- Lead the effective management, motivation, and training of safety, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain current knowledge of trends and practices and remains apprised of industry standards, technology, developments, and regulatory changes
- Identify and implement best practices into Company’s standards to continuously improve safety practices.
- Driving the adoption of strategic visions and ideas, building trust and confidence with the Operations Team.
- Influencing change across stakeholders from multiple business units, implementing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
- Drive communication and reporting
- Responsible for the preparation and quality assurance of safety analytics reports to Senior Management.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations, trends and recommended next steps.
- Manage the Safety KPIs, e.g. Incident Rate, Severity Rate, Frequency Rate, Preventable Auto Rate and other trends to identify areas where we can continue to account for and mitigate risks and drive the Safety Program.
- Collaborate effectively across all organizations
- Measure regional performance against requirements in safety policies and identify a plan to implement and address negative trends and deficiencies.
- Instruct and train Operation Leaders in the company safety policies and assist in incorporating safety standards at the local level.
- Provide guidance and oversight on compliance with company safety policies.
- Communicate expectations and provide consistent and appropriate feedback to safety team to ensure performance of core competencies.
- Safety incident management and investigation.
- Work with senior leadership to establish goals, metrics, and priorities for safety across multiple organizations.
- Manage regulatory challenges and advise management on recommended course of action.
- Manage safety incidents and data integrity to ensure accurate reporting and metrics and support business safety initiatives.
- Manage regulatory inquiries and investigations in conjunction with field safety team.
- Analyze metrics and review monthly incidents to understand trends and align resources to focus where safety risk is frequent.
- Audit data collection and reporting practices to confirm compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Knowledgeable in construction and general industry safety regulations.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Minimum Degree: Bachelor’s Degree
- Course of study: Safety, Environmental Sciences, Risk Management, or related field
- Special Certification or Licensing Desirable: CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum experience: 10+ years
- Required Industry Experience: Construction, General Industry, Insulation, Trades
- Industry Specific: Field safety experience leading teams in residential and commercial construction, general industry experience in manufacturing and distribution.
- Functional Specific: Experience in implementing awareness/branding campaigns and techniques to create and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Legal Age Requirements: At least 18 years of age

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Environmental work areas include office, manufacturing/warehouse environments and construction jobsites. Occasionally required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and safely lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of construction jobsite, manufacturing and warehouse areas in various weather conditions. This may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
