In a strategic move to enhance our initiatives, we are consolidating our worldwide Environmental Product Compliance and Environmental Sustainability teams. This integration aims to seamlessly infuse the circular economy model and environmental sustainability principles across all facets of our design, manufacturing and distribution processes. We are actively seeking a dynamic global leader to drive transformative change by turning environmental compliance into strategic opportunities, embedding design for environment and sustainability principles into our operating mechanisms, and championing our sustainability roadmap.
This role reports directly to the Head of Global Environmental Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability.
Where you come in:
Strategic Vision

  • Further develop and articulate a forward-looking, comprehensive Global Environmental strategy that aligns with our business objectives, emphasizing opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth.

Compliance as Opportunity
  • Minimize the use of hazardous chemicals, substances of concern, and oversee the management of these materials in products, packaging, and manufacturing to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Diligently enforce chemical restrictions in our products to align with regulations like EU REACH, EU RoHS, Prop 65 and EPA TSCA. Ensure compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility, including EU WEEE and EU Packaging Directive, reporting on the exported quantities of electronics, batteries, and packaging while ensuring responsible recycling.
  • Transform compliance initiatives into strategic opportunities by identifying ways to proactively address emerging environmental challenges.

Design for Environment and Sustainability
  • Embed design for environment and sustainability principles into the product development process, collaborating with R&D and design teams to create environmentally responsible and sustainable practices.
  • Drive innovation in materials sourcing, manufacturing processes, and packaging to minimize environmental impact.

Circular Economy Leadership
  • Spearhead the integration of circular economy practices, promoting closed-loop systems and sustainable life-cycle solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to establish and implement circular economy initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and integration of sustainability principles throughout the entire value chain.
  • Collaborate with the ESG Steering Committee to inform the corporate strategy

Metrics and Reporting
  • Drive transparency and expansion of our environmental reporting strategy.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership and stakeholders on progress and impact.

What makes you successful:
  • Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing Global Environmental strategies and sustainability initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of circular economy principles and experience integrating them into business practices.
  • Track record of successfully turning compliance into strategic opportunities and driving innovation in sustainable product development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of global product environmental requirements such as EPR, RoHS, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals, REACH and WEEE
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to drive change at all levels of the organization.

Experience and Education Requirements:
• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 13+ years of industry experience
• 5-8 years of previous people management experience
