At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you help to make the world safer, cleaner, and healthier! You will be a key member of multi-functional team dedicated to developing groundbreaking online instrumentation for the clean energy, food safety, and mining industries.
What you will do:
Be responsible for the electrical aspects of specification development, design, analysis, prototyping, and test as you help develop the next generation of extraordinary industrial instrumentation
Complete system level electronics design, including i/o, data acquisition & processing, display, and controllers
Oversee circuit and board level designs for critical subsystems and components
Detailed verification and validation of new designs.
Review existing designs and feedback and recommend improvements
Ensure work is in accordance with our engineering and product development processes, is in compliance with relevant country and International standards of design and manufacture, statutory requirements and regulations
Prepare reports design efforts for internal use and for the purpose of obtaining patents to protect technology developed by Thermo Fisher Scientific
How you will get here:
Education
Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university required.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years meaningful work experience in a related engineering role
System-level design of industrial instrumentation or equipment
Circuit design and analysis, especially microcontrollers, embedded microprocessors and i/o
Shown knowledge and experience working to engineering and quality standards
Experience meeting global regulatory standards including CE Mark, CSA/UL, RoHS, CCC, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proficiency with eCAD packages (Altium preferred)
Demonstrated ability to solve electronic circuits
Programming experience preferred
A skilled communicator with an ability to work with a global development team
Ability to establish relationships to cultivate trust, collaboration and a positive environment
Can be counted on to deliver results with a sense of personal responsibility for expected outcomes
Strong written and oral presentation skills
A passion to grow your knowledge, skills, and career
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $95,900.00–$159,800.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
