Sr Internal Auditor

What You'll Do
As a Sr Internal Auditor on our Internal Audit and Risk Consulting team, you will work closely with leaders and employees within different areas of Principal to help meet company strategic objectives by performing risk-focused, process-based internal audits and risk consulting services.
You'll have the opportunity to:

• Analyze business processes and assess the adequacy of risk mitigation and control activities.
• Analyze procedures, controls and/or system applications to ensure the integrity of information.
• Analyze system controls and use data to perform detailed analysis.
• Document insights and detailed process risk/controls.
• Perform tests to assure risk management strategies are functioning effectively.
• Consult with business partners to develop action plans for risk management strategies that align with goals and objectives.
• Prepare written audit reports for senior management.
• Research industry and organization risk management and compliance issues.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or business related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of related experience - auditing experience or business process knowledge preferred.
• CIA, CPA or equivalent preferred (or desire to obtain in future).
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment.
• Banking and/or Pension experience is preferred
• PC and/or system skills required (intermediate Excel/Access/Microsoft BI) preferred.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$77350 - $147600 / year

Work Environment
This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You'll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
