Unique Skills:
Responsible for new product develpment, new technolgies management, trending and forecast for design and technology. Bring new ideas to the design team and inspiring the design team to new heights.This will not only include design, but also managing the design effort through concept sketches, cad models, documentation packages and keeping the project on task. While team members won't report directly to them they will be require to check work and keep the tasks of team members on track.This position should take very little supervision and should be a main driver to help management cast the vision for Gulfstream.
Function:
1. Provide a comprehensive product plan for new designs. This will include timing, vision casting, new technology integration, design resource loading, budget, and yearly projections.
2. Creating forecasting for project planining as well resource loading for each project.
3. Ability to provide clear and persuasive communication of design concepts to engineers and marketing departments.
3. Ability to promote design leadership and understanding throughout the organization
4. Should be well versed in creative software and able to create complex models, documentation and presentation to describe the projects intent.
5. Should be a team leader and set a good example for all team members.
6. A postive outlook is essential for the success of this position. You must believe in a can do effort.
7. Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
8. Solid personal project planning skills, work breakdown schedules, and project reviews
9. Ability to communicate their vision and requirements through drawings, prototypes and documentation
Knowledge and Skills
1. Should have good knowledge of design skills, from the digital arts (photoshop,ext) as well as be a capable CAD person. (Solid Works, Alias, Catia)
2. Good hand sketching skills that will allwo you to convey your ideas quickly and efficently to team members.
3. You should be adepth at multitasking keeping a good balance between design and engineering.
4. Should have a good knowledge of designing for production.
5. Exceptional team player, and can inspire his/her team mates.
6. Must be able to drive a complete interior vision and maintaining a cohesive design.
8. Exceptional leadership skills.
Prefered Industrial Design Degree or related design background.
Shown proven ability to manage complex projects and creative team members. Should be able to lead full interior projects with little to no supervision. This position will take a firm understanding of the nature of VIP avaition and should have direct experience dealing with the end user. Should have at least 2 - 3 completed programes that were deem a success.
- Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope .
- Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities .
- Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge .
- Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas .
- Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements .
- Works under consultative direction; uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives .
- Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities .
- Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program .
- Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
