TITLE: Sr. GL Accountant
LOCATION: Hybrid (must be located in Houston or surrounding areas)
STATUS: Full-Time with Benefits
SALARY: $80k depending on experience
SHIFTS: Monday - Friday from 8AM to 5PM (CST)
Job Summary
As a GL Accountant, you are responsible for the preparation and entry of monthly journal entries and bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Management:
- Meet deadlines as outlined in monthly close calendar.
- Prepare monthly journal entries for approval.
- Enter monthly journal entries Into ERP upon approval.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Sales tax preparation and filing
- Maintenance:
- Respond timely to general ledger inquiries.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Support audits as requested.
- Backup for accounts payable and billing.
- Special projects.
Education Qualifications
Minimum Required Education and/or Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma.
Five years of general ledger experience.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Requirements
Two-Year Degree preferred.
Experience in Professional Services or Managed Services environment.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications
In order to perform the functions and responsibilities of the position (listed above) the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are essential.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Paylocity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly motivated and organized individual.
Ability to work independently within a team environment.
Detail oriented and organized Microsoft Excel proficiency.
