Job Overview:
We are looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Accounting/Finance team. The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide analysis and metrics for financial core processes and is responsible for knowledge of all systems to support our field operating locations. This position will have responsibility for more than one operating site and will provide analytical support to functions outside of accounting/finance to achieve financial results. Position will provide operational planning and analytical support for various processes and will conduct operational reviews, including billing and payroll. Position will also be responsible for key monthly accounting activities, including the monthly close process and balance sheet reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- College degree required. Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Prefer experience in trucking industry
- 5-7 years of experience as a Financial Analyst/Acccount
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Advanced PC skills including Excel
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Time management skills
- Team building skills
- Willingness to travel if necessary
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
- Excellent work history with proven track record
- Professional, clean, neat appearance
- No conviction of felonies, serious crimes, or have charges pending. However, a conviction is not an automatic disqualification of employment.

Responsibilities:
- Effectively plan and forecast business results.
- Trains new employees, including operational roles, on key accounting and financial processes.
- Works with the Directors and VPs of Operations to monitor and analyze financial results and prepare required variance analysis and explanations to plan or forecast. Must understand impact items have from impact of volumes, scope, and inefficiencies. Ensure sound operational decisions are made by providing financial analysis that considers these items and the implications to the P&L statement. Identify, capture, and report on key performance indicators (internal and external focus)
- Demonstrates support to the Epes Transport System, LLC Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable. Driver continuous improvement projects to reduce cost structures or improve operating efficiencies.
- Responsible for reviewing and maintaining Fleet Manager rate records for shipment cost impacts (BUY rate records) and associated reporting.
- Performs other duties as may become necessary or assigned.
