The (Senior) Employee Relations Officer works with the Associate Director, Auxiliary Services Human Resources on planning and implementing the daily operations and efforts of the HR/Aux Service Center for this division. This position provides strategic advising, guidance, and leadership to management on performance issues and processes. Additionally, this position works with the Associate Director on short- and long-term planning of all Human Resources related functions, including recruitment, staffing, Employee Relations, benefits, employee retention, and workforce training.
Provides administrative support and guidance to managers and staff when complex and sensitive issues arise. Effectively demonstrates, recommends and implements strategies on how to handle performance management and address difficult situations and issues. Collaborates with University HR, and senior leaders of Aux/Dining Services to create a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Supports the Aux/Dining Services departments with a focus on diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives. Implements and coordinates initiatives, programs, and practices that support the University’s strategies to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion. Participates in the University-wide initiatives, programs, and committees to support, encourage, and create a high-performance team.
Bachelor’s degree required; significant experience may substitute for some of the education requirements.
3-5 years of Employee Relations experience required
Ability to manage and work effectively with students, faculty, and staff clientele in high-volume and fast-paced environment. Must have outstanding communication, computer skills, human relations, and interpersonal skills and be able to coordinate and gain the cooperation of a large and diverse staff. Bilingual English/Spanish skills helpful
Peak times of year may require expanded work hours, including evenings and/or weekends, to accomplish departmental work goals.

Pay: $75,150.00 - $93,950.00 per year
